Summer holidays are nearly over…

Ah, those sweet, long summer evenings! Alas, all good things must come to an end. It’s been a while since I’ve posted here. I have had an incredible busy spring season. A few weeks off with my wife and son were well deserved ( we spent 10 days on the lovely island of Corfu. The sketch you see above was made on the balcony of our apartment) But now it’s back to work! I have a full basket of projects that will keep me busy for the coming months: first up is illustrating another Little Golden Book for Rubinstein Publishing here in Amsterdam. They will release my first ever written and illustrated Golden Book, ‘Mika the bear who would not sleep’ this coming november. I posted some tidbits about that book here earlier, but it is finished at last. I had a lot of fun doing that book and it will definitely not be my last. The book I have to illustrate now is written by one of Hollands best known comedians, the venerable yet still very active Freek de Jonge. The story is about an unmbrella that takes flight in a storm and has all sorts of adventures. I’m looking forward to start working on that lovely project. The month october will be filled with travel mostly. I will keep you posted on my public appearances, lectures and booksignings. Well, that’s it for now. Talk to you soon!
